The SorbX™ EP Shields are available with one, two or three levels of radiation protection. These shields are designed with an overall dimension of 12” x 16.5”, and include a 3.5” x 1.5 “scoop fenestration area on the edge of the shield. The shields are available in our standard material or with highly absorbent material. The SorbX™ shields are sterile, disposable, lead-free, and green, so they are environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
Procedures
The EP Shields are used on subclavian access point procedures such as pacing procedures (pacemaker implants), ICD procedures (cardiac defibrillator and biventricular pacing procedures).
Levels of Protection
There are three levels of protection offered with the EP Shield. Two layers of protection are recommended for most procedures given the proximity of the physician to the primary beam.
